During the unit outing, we were split into our house system groups. I was in Lupus. During the "Q&A" session, our group was relatively quiet and we didn't interact much. During the stations the three things that I could tell was implemented were Effective Communication, Teamwork and Listening. The first station, we had to blindfold one member at a time and guide them to a pail with balls and back. We had to practice effective communication as we couldn't be screaming into the person's ear. The blindfolded member had to practice listening to understand the direction of the pail. In the second station, we had to build as tall a tower as we could with straws. We had to practice teamwork as we needed to discuss together and properly plan. We also needed to practice listening as we needed to listen to each other's idea before finalizing. The third station was untangling we had to practice effective communication. We needed to talk together to untangle ourselves in the shortest amount of time. We succeeded in doing it in 39 seconds. At the fourth station we had to draw a picture using twine connected to a marker. We had to communicate to ensure our drawing was good. Lastly, there was a mass race. We had to work together to properly plan the members for different stations. Overall, I've learned that effective communication, listening and teamwork are really important qualities of a team. 13th Batch
