.22 Revolver Shooting

On Tuesday 19 September, my squad and I went to Home Team Academy for the first time to hold and fire a real revolver.I was excited at first as i was finally going experience the feeling of shooting live rounds.When we reached our destination,we could see other cadets from different schools going to the firing range to fire their first live round too.The firing range was packed with other cadets waiting their turn.Luckily,we were the third school to enter the range .Before entering the range, we had to recap the safety precautions and familiarize ourselves to the commands to ensure our safety.I could sense that everybody in my group were scared and nervous when we entered the range and waiting for further instructions .But when we started firing our rounds we gained confidence slowly.It was a fun experience.The feeling of accomplishment is great and I realised that I was brave to have fired 16 rounds in total from a revolver. Overall I felt happy to fire a revolver and I anticipate the next live shoot !

Its was a memorable and unique experience for me as it was the first time I'm firing a gun. I've learnt how to handle a revolver, and also learned the proper commands for the shooting. At first, I thought that all I had to do was just to pick up the gun and aim forward. But afterwards, I realised that there are many techniques to firing a revolver.When all of us step into the shooting range, the atmosphere became intense. Just before the live firing, i felt super nervous and worried about my performance. During the shoot, my hands were shivering and I could not hold the revolver properly. Although the result for my live rounds was not what I expected but I've gained a lot of experiences and learning points. To conclude, I felt that this live firing was very meaning as I get to learn how to aim, the way to stand and how to hold and handle a revolver.
