Weekly Training (20 January 2017)

We started off with muster parade. We had our first ranks and a few badges. We were very happy as it was our first time getting our ranks. Secondly, we did some drills. We recapped on the same drills to make it better because practice makes perfect. We had to learn how to say the timing together as some of us went in different pace. We need to improve on our drills as some of us did not do it properly. We split into two groups for a mini competition for drills. It was fun to watch the other group doing their drills. After that, we went on with campcraft. We learned about the different parts of tentage like the ground sheet, inner sheet, outer sheet, and a peg. Then it was house system. We split into our different houses. The sec one cadets that come for trial were involved as well. We had some bonding time. we played two games. We firstly played frisbee and the game was quite intense because we didn't know if we could catch the frisbee. Then we played captain's ball. We versus with the Cls and CIs but, it was a tie surprisingly. Overall the training was tough and fun at the same time.

Today, was the day that we got our lance corporal rank. I was really happy that we finally got the rank. I am also now a sec 2 NPCC cadet and we have to be role models to our sec 1 NPCC cadets. After the muster parade, we did drills and recapped. We also practised a new drill that was taught last week. After that, we had our house system. It was really exciting. I had a lot of fun playing the game which is frisbee and captain's ball. We also had the chance to bond with the whole unit. I think it is really enjoyable.

Today's training is very interesting as get to recap our drills, learning the logistics of the tentage and also get to know our juniors by playing games.

For our drills, we recap the new drill we learn last week 'maju'. Many of us forgot about the timing of the drills and we get to learn it again and practice it. Before that, we have our muster parade which we get our rank and badges. It is very nervous as the whole unit is looking at us while we are called individually to get our rank or badges. Learning the logistics of the tentage is very useful as we get to be familiar with the logistics then it will be easier when we are pitching the tent. I have know names of some juniors and I really enjoy playing with them. Although today's training is very tiring but the more we practiced the better our drills will get.
