Showcase Day 2016

Today, I received my Corporal rank from the muster parade and I was delighted. After that, we observed the Sec 1s do their drills and I was impressed with their standard. Then, my squadmates and I started making friends with the Sec 1s, after that, we watched the Drills competition team, and I was quite impressed as they did many things that I have not learned. Then, we changed into our PT Kit and moved on to the next segment, which was tent pitching. At first, I was a bit nervous in the beginning but after a while, I just did whatever I could to finish pitching the tent. After pitching the tent, the Teacher Officers talked to the whole unit, then we unpitched the tent with our Cadet Leaders. After we unpitched the tent and put all the tent logistics back into the NP Room, we went to the MPH to carry on with physical training (PT), which was quite tiring and tough. However, I endured it throughout the whole session as I was determined to finish PT properly. Then, we did a debrief and after that, we did a mass 'Bersurai' for the whole unit and helped ourselves to the bubble tea that Ms Choo bought for all of us. I felt a sense of achievement after today's training as I got promoted, I pitched a tent with my squadmates and finished a tough PT.

Today, we had Muster Parade where we will get to know our Lance Corporal results. I am very nervous about the result of the test as this was my first time doing the test. Luckily my hard work paid off as I am promoted. After the Muster Parade, we had our drill showcase. We are happy as we had done well for it and we receive compliments from the TOs and the CIs that we had improved a lot from the past few trainings. After that, we had PT. Although PT is quite tiring but it was good for our health. We had muscle pains and aches but that will be going to help us in the future. During debrief, we tried a different method that the TOs gave us a card that shows words and pictures on each side respectively. I think this is a good way to allow us to express our feelings and thoughts throughout the year. Overall, I found today as a fun and interesting day.

It was a really enjoyable day. Starting the day, with master parade was great as most of us get our badges and to know whether we passed our lance corporal test. As for showcase, most of us in the squad was nervous and anxious as it was our first time showcasing our drills to the whole unit. We also get to learn to learn some skills from our Secondary 2s seniors when they were pitching up their tent. And last but not least, our PT session was tiring yet super fun as we get to bond with our squad mates and to encourage our squad not to give up when we were doing the PT as having a fit body is important. I hope that we would have more of these activities again.

Today was the Muster Parade Day and the Showcase Day. Some of the Secondary 1 and 2 were promoted. For us, we were promoted to Lance Corporal. I was glad that most of us were promoted. I wished that we could all promote to Lance Corporal as a squad. I had mixed feelings when I knew I was promoted. I was shocked and happy! Some of my friends had the same feeling too. When we marched out, I felt quite proud and excited for myself. During the showcase time, our squad did drills in front of the other cadets. All of the spectators clapped for us and I could tell the whole squad was really happy. We also saw the secondary 2s pitching tents. I am impressed at how fast they can do it. Last but not least we also saw the secondary 2s and 3s senior doing amazing well for their drills and they were the 1st runner up in a competition. Which I think it was really cool
