National Day Parade 2016
Marching in the National Police Cadet Corps contingent during the National Day Parade 2016 gave me the honour to represent my school and CCA. Through this journey, it gave me an eye-opener of other units as well, from there, I was able to pick up new skills such as uniform and drills that I can bring it back to my unit. Meeting people from all walks of life also made me learn to be compassionate and understanding towards others. Initially, I was hesitant about being in the parade because the trainings would take up 2 months of the weekends and I was afraid it would affect my studies. On the contrary, it taught me sense of urgency and how to prioritise my schedule. For example, my uniform. Due the trainings on every Friday, I had to rush on preparing my uniform because there will be training on the next day. The trainings motivated and groomed me into a teenager who can manage her time well. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be able to participate in this prestigious parade and I would never forget the friends I have made there. It was a great honour to be in the first row :) Finally, my efforts greatly paid off for arranging my badges for long hours. Our ambassadors who ensured that we had food to eat, bringing us to our Form Up Point and made sure that we had our transportation ready during dismissal time. Strangers who became my close friends after the parade. To sum it all up, it was an absolutely overwhelming experience that I would never forget. EVER. Thanks to my squadmates, Cadet Inspectors and Teacher Officers who often encourage me and support me.
