Throughout the NDP rehearsals, I have gotten the chance to hone my drills as well as to learn new ones. The NDP trainings have helped to train my discipline as I had to maintain a good body posture while bearing with the fatigue for long durations. Although the trainings were tiring and long, I feel that the hard work would pay off during the actual parade. Overall, the NDP trainings have benefitted me both in drills and in values.

The squad recaped on the drills we had learnt. Some people had forgotten how to do some of the drills which included me. Some people did not raise their legs to 90 degrees and also some people were moving in the squad without asking for permission. On that day, we learnt how to march as a squad. Although I am not very good at it, I will try harder in order to be better. I could tell that some people like me are doing the drills wrongly but I think it is alright as humans make mistakes and this is our first time doing it. During Song & Cheers segment, we did a mini competition which was really fun. Overall, that days training was fun and enjoyable.

This is my first time doing the National Day Parade, I am very honoured to be the flag escort as it is a very rare and prestigious opportunity. From this, I have learnt slow marching and steps of folding the flag. Some challenges I had faced was the synchronization with the people holding the other sides of the flag. It was hard maintaining the tension of the flag as our slow marching step must be the same distance. It was also hard to maintain our body balance during slow march as we had to stand with one foot and glide with the other. I had the opportunity to work with National Cadet Corps and Red Cross for the national day parade and it was fun. This national Day Parade was a great chance to work with other uniform groups and try the feeling of how it's like to be in an actual parade. Although the flag escorts will only be in the parade for a few minutes, we will still give in all our best to make it a good parade!!
